Why your child should join a team sport!

There are numerous wonderful benefits your child can receive from participating in a team sport. Physically it will help them maintain a healthy weight and prevent conditions such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease later in life. It can also help to reduce stress, improve vision, and increase vitamin D levels.

Enjoyment of sports at a young age encourages children to develop life skills that will assist them in becoming healthy adults by fostering team-building skills and allowing your child to meet new people and form friendships.  If playing sports doesn’t necessarily come naturally to your child but they enjoy playing them, hard work and practice will show improvements in their sports skills, which will build their self-confidence on and off the field. They will overcome shyness by learning to communicate with others on their team and become more sociable in different environments. They may not necessarily be friends with the children on the team at first but they will learn the importance of how to interact with others and work towards a common goal.
